Imagine sipping craft beer on a WWII era ship overlooking the Bay.
In 2019, the San Francisco Brewer’s Guild incorporated the surrounding areas to become the Bay Area Brewer’s Guild representing the entire Bay Area from Santa Cruz to Marin & Pacifica to Berkeley. I was charged with developing a new collaboration architecture to foster community across the Bay and design marketing collateral for the major fundraising event for the Guild, known as Brews on the Bay. Brews on the Bay is a annual beer festival in San Francisco. IMO, it is one of the best. Imagine sipping craft beer on a WWII era ship overlooking the Bay. I wanted to capture the feeling of sunset on the ship and the bright vibrancy of the event. First I started with reference images & a moodboard *insert images of moodboard*
The rough drafts. The first round covers the range of aesthetics. The feedback focused the bright vibrancy of the yellow design, but the authenticity of the middle design. Stencil inspired fonts and rusty hues help capture the vibe. The stencil font evokes the stencils used to paint WWII era ships. The bright vibrant gradient reminds you of the sunset, while subtly hitting on the tasty aspect of this event.
